in the upstate of South Carolina. Accredited by the Accreditation
Commission for Healthcare, we maintain the highest quality standards
for our patients and referral sources. Here are some of the services
that we provide to our patients at no additional cost to you or
your insurance program:
ORDER INTAKE/CONSULTATION:
Whatever the order, our experienced staff utilizes their knowledge
and experience to assist our patients and referral sources in selecting
the proper equipment and supplies based on patient need, diagnosis
and reimbursement coverage.
DISCHARGE PLANNING:
We regularly work with physicians and their staffs, hospital discharge
planners, home health staff, insurance case managers, and other
organizations to ensure continuity of care and a safe and effective
transition to the home for our patients. We develop our care plans
to meet the individual needs of each of our patients based on physician
orders.
INSURANCE MANAGEMENT:
We verify insurance at time of order, obtain prior authorizations
when required, communicate financial responsibility to the patient,
file claims and accept payment from Medicare, Medicaid, most group
health insurance plans, and other agencies. We bill both primary
and secondary insurances for most of our equipment. We also accept
VISA and Mastercard for the convenience of our customers.
EQUIPMENT DELIVERY:
Carolina Homecare offers free delivery services, set-up of equipment,
as well as patient/caregiver instruction and training for our patients.
We also provide 24 hour emergency services.
PATIENT & CAREGIVER INSTRUCTION
AND TRAINING: Our staff of Patient Service Technicians,
Respiratory Therapists and Rehab Technology Suppliers ensure that
our patients and family members are fully trained on the operation,
maintenance, troubleshooting and safety of our equipment.
CLINICAL PATIENT ASSESSMENT:
Our full-time staff of respiratory care practitioners assess all
respiratory patients and develop individualized care plans based
on physician orders and diagnosis. Communication is maintained with
each patient’s physician on a regular basis. Carolina Homecare
is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Healthcare for
our clinical respiratory services.
PROFESSIONAL REHAB SERVICES:
Carolina Homecare is committed to working with our patients, referral
sources, physicians, hospital and home health physical therapists,
and others to ensure that patients receive appropriate custom mobility
equipment that will meet their long-term needs and improve their
quality of life. Our Rehab Department is lead by a Certified Rehab
Technology Supplier. We provide custom mobility equipment and other
assistive technology for both pediatric and adult patients. Our
staff researches and authorizes funding, provides in-home evaluations,
develops patient specific equipment recommendations that address
each patient’s diagnosis, lifestyle and physical needs, works
with the physician and others to obtain appropriate medical documentation,
and delivers, adjusts and trains patients/caregivers on the proper
use of all equipment. We also provide a repair department for patients
that have purchased equipment from Carolina Homecare.
